Tonight at the Christian Film Festival Awards, will it be Ailla Nolasco or Fiona Yang for Best Actress? And will it be Ron Macapagal or Kimber for the Best Actor plum?



Tonight's Christian Film Festival Awards Night  is doubly exciting. ROMMantics are in a tight race for the Best Actor and Best Actress awards.

Bidaman Ron Macapagal's performance in "Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo" as an autistic adult who put his family back together, has already earned him three Best Actor awards locally and a Best Actor nomination in an international film  festival. His portrayal as Marco in "Bata Bata Bakit Ka Ginawa" gave him a Best Actor nomination in the 6th Inding Indie Film Festival. It can be recalled that his films have been recognized internationally. "Cuckoo" was finalist at the Festival Internacional de Cinema da Figueira da Foz in Portugal. "Beki't Ako" was finalist in the ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival in Shanghai, China, TQU Queer Film Festival in Berlin, Germany and Playa del Carmen LGBTQ Film Festival in Mexico. "Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo" was finalist at the London Lift-Off Film Festival in England and  finalist at the 16th We Care International Film Festival in New Delhi, India where he was nominated Best Actor. If Ron wins tonight, it will be his 7th Best Actor plum after being recognized for his performances in " Cuckoo", "Beki't Ako" and "Mammangi" and  "Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo". 

Ailla Nolasco, now an international flight attendant, has already earned two Best Actress awards as a mother in search for her lost son in "Akay". She got her first Best Actress Award from the 5th Inding Indie Film Festival then at the Dangal ng Bayan Entertainment Awards. She also won Best Supporting Actress as a conservative woman raised by nuns in "Ticked Pink" in the 6th Urduja Film Festival. On the international scene, Akay was finalist at the 16th We Care International Film Festival in IndiaWill she be announced as tonight's Best Actress?

Fiona Yang recently just got the Best Actress statute from the 6th Inding Indie Film Festival and a  Best Actress nomination from the 4th Sorok Film Festival. According to critics, her performance as a young mother who's dark secret was kept hidden by her best friend in " Bata Bata Bakit Ka Ginawa" is one  of last year's best performances. Will Lady Luck smile at her tonight for her 2nd Best Actress trophy?

The reluctant actor, Kimber Lee, hasn't included in his ambitions being an actor. But fate has led him to showbiz world, His first film earned for him a Best New Actor award. It was followed by a Best Supporting Actor for his performance in "Ama Ka Ng Anak Mo". Tonight, he is fighting tooth and nail with other contenders to the Best Actor award for his portrayal of a blind man taking care of a lost child in "Akay". Will he be declared tonight's Best Actor?

Of course, the other contenders for the Best Actor and Best Actress recognition are equally commendable. Let us wait for tonight's verdict.
