Direk Romm Burlat wins Best Director in a Film Festival in Paris, France


Multi-awarded director, actor and TV Host Romm Burlat, recently won Best Director at the Lacorne International Film Festival in Paris, France for his work in Minsa'y Isang Alitaptap (International Title: Once A Firefly). This is Direk Romm's 42nd Best Director award in international film festivals. Likewise, he won last month as Best Actor for his portrayal in Ang Tatay Kong Tatay which was his 33rd in that category.

Currently, Burlat is hosting a segment, Happy Weekend Asia, on Asian Television Heritage Network. He is also doing his online Acting Workshop to kids and teens all over the world.

When the pandemic settles down, he is scheduled to shoot three movies. One of which is Nang Minsang Kumaway Ang Tadhana which he will co-direct with actress Teresa Loyzaga. Half of the scenes will be shot in Manila and the other half in Perth, Australia.

Meanwhile, his film, Once A Firefly has won several awards at the Star Hollywood Awards in the US, World Film Carnival in Singapore and Indo French International Film Festival in India. 

Burlat is one of the few film celebrities who has a Masters degree. He graduated in 2020 at the Cambridge Universite de London in the United Kingdom earning the distinction of Cum Laude. He is graduating next month for his Doctorate in Business Administration and Ph.D in International Film and Cinema Studies. He will have a one month study in Teaching English courtesy of the British Council Organization.

MINSA'Y ISANG ALITAPTAP PRODUCER WINS BACK-TO-BACK AS BEST PRODUCER


New Producer Teresita Tolentino Pambuan is one lucky woman. Her first venture, "Minsa'y Isang Alitaptap" has given her some amount of fame. She won as Best New Producer at the 2nd Southeast Asian International Achievement Award. A month after, she won Best Producer at the World Film Carnival in Singapore. Just a few days ago, Teresita won another Best Producer award from the Indo French International Film Festival in India.
Minsa'y Isang Alitaptap with an international title of " Once A Firefly" has been earning rave reviews from critics. One Fil-Am writer even rated the film 7/10.

The film was shown for more than a month in KTX owned by ABS-CBN and Ticket2me, both online theaters. By the end of this month, it will be shown in Perth, Australia which hopefully will also be shown in other cities of Down Under. Negotiations are underway for the film to be shown in high schools in the Philippines as part of the students' requirement in their arts subject.  Hopefully, Minsa'y Isang Alitaptap will also be shown in Zamboanga and Scotland. 

The film was a Finalist at the Cannes World Film Festival and garnered several awards at the Star Hollywood Awards in the US, World Film Carnival in Singapore, Lacorne International Film Festival in Italy and the Indo French International Film Festival in India.

Currently, it is still competing in several film festivals all over the world.

ACTRESS MOHAIRA SANAMA IS ALSO A BEAUTY QUEEN


 

Child Actress Mohaira Sanama has won at least 6 awards from international film festivals for her portrayal as the adopted daughter of a gay father in the film, "Ang Tatay Kong Nanay" (International Title: Motherly Father) directed by the multi-awarded film director, Romm Burlat.

Moi as she is fondly called won Best Child Actress awards at the Port Blair International Film Festival, Uruvatti International Film Festival, Gona Film Awards, Golden Sparrow International Film Festival, Aiyan Film Awards, Indo Singapore International Film Festival and the latest, the Wonderland International Film Festival in Australia.

A very highly achieved girl only at age 12. As you look at her photo, you may have guessed that she's already 18 but she is 6 years younger than that. 

Aside from being an award-winning actress, Moi is also a beauty queen. She won in the Munting Mutya ng Tagum City 2019. She was the title holder as Munting Mutya ng Davao del Norte 2019 and Miss Little Glam Philippines 2020 . She was also a member of the World Championship Performing Arts Team otherwise known as WCOPA in 2019 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Not only that, Mohaira Sanama is a multi-medalist in the modeling category.

After elections, Moi is scheduled to shoot her solo film, "Kabilin", a Visayan film which talks about the natives in Mindanao.
